Get smokin' with the Holland
Serious grillers love that smoke flavor when grilling pork, chicken or beef. Nobody wants their food to smell and taste like a forest fire but a little smoke can go a long way to adding just the right amount of tantalizing flavor to your grilling.
One of the unique features of the Holland Grill is the ability to add wood chips to add a light, smoky flavor to your grilled food. All Holland Grills come with either a small wood chip box or a built-in chip drawer to let you add our Flav-O-Buds to create that extra smoke. Available in Hickory, Mesquite or Alderwood, the Holland Flav-O-Buds are 100% compressed wood, designed to smoke quickly while your food is grilling. Chips placed in the small box and inside the grill will smoke faster than those placed in the built in chip drawer. If you're grilling something such as a turkey that will be on the grill for several hours, placing the wood chips in the drawer will work fine. If the food you're grilling only takes an hour or so to finish, you'll find the wood chips work better placed in the box inside the grill. If you want extra smoke, purchase some of the small tart pans (miniature pie pans) and place them in the other corners of the grill. But, be sure not to let your food drip directly into the wood chips to prevent a flare up.
Hickory is our best seller and will remind you of a cool, fall morning in the mountains of Gatlinburg. Mesquite gives a great flavor to steak and other cuts of beef and Alderwood is a sweet Oregon wood that is great for grilling fish.
