I am getting ready to smoke for th efirst time on my new Wrangler. Am I supposed to soak the pellets prior to using them or use them dry? Also do the pellets actually catch on fir in the drawer?

Franklin D

No, do not soak the pellets. They don't catch fire, they smoke. Give them time to start smoking before you add the food.

If you have a pellet drawer you're in for a treat.

Load the drawer about halfway with pellets, but leave it open. Fire up the grill and allow it to preheat. Just a minute or two before adding your food, shut the drawer. This will give you maximum smoke during the early cooking minutes when the smoke really penetrates the food.

Enjoy!

I smoked a whole chicken with the applewood chips. It was so good that the grandkids ate all of it instead of the pizza they were supposed to have so I only got a small piece! Gotta love it!
