I'm thinking about buying an Epic. I understand that the bottom shell is made out of aluminum and will resist rust and corrosion. My grill will be under a shelter so I'm wondering what kind of life expectancy I should see out of this grill. Should I spend the extra $200 on the Apex? I want a grill that will last me a very long time. By the way, I had a Holland many years ago and it lasted about 12 years before it rusted out. I was very satisfied with the grill.

My guess is that the Epic, cared for as you mention, will last a long, long time. However, in for a penny in for a pound. Buy the Apex. You're going to like this grill and will find yourself using it quite often. The Apex takes little bit longer to heat up, but holds heat better and will save you money on propane in the long run. It will also be with you even longer than the Epic will.
