I read some where on here if you leave the valve open grill will get hotter ?
is this true ?

Robert,
Not sure what you are asking, but I think it has to do with the drain valve on the drip pan drain pipe.
Normally, you leave the valve open so any liquid grease can drain away from the drip pan into the drip bucket.
If you allow grease to build up in the drip pan, you greatly increase your chances of a fire in the drip pan.
You only close the valve when you add water to the drip pan so you can steam or cook at a lower temperature.

Thanks Stan, I didn't know that either. I've been leaving mine close until I finish cooking.
