Topic Title: How to add knobs to my grill
Created on June 15, 2014 at 04:11 PM

Matthew

I bought a house that came with Holland Grill

The previous owner placed this grill within a counter. The problem is the knobs are too stiff to turn it on and off

Would it be possible to buy these knobs and let them add it on?

Should be part #2

misterno

Thanks. I am just surprised that it is that expensive

misterno

Is it possible to buy something similar but not brand name? Would it fit?

Grillin'

Not that I am aware of. Dealing with a propane/gas appliance I would not try to use something other than the original parts.
Even considering its age you have a good grill there so spending that kind of money is a justified investment. I have one like that & it cooks just as good as the newer Epic I use as my demo grill at work.

misterno

If I buy the parts, should I find a professional to install this valve?

What do you call this type of professional?

Or maybe can I do it myself?

Misterno,
You need to be more specific. If you have an old BH421SG-2 Classic, the handle/knob just slides onto the valve stem. If you just need the handle/knob, you do not need to buy the whole valve.

The old white knob has been replaced by the SG4-150 red knob. It will fit fine.

You should be calling Holland with your grill model number & serial number. 1-800-880-9766

Thanks for the reply. If you look at my first posting with pictures, this might give you an idea

I am kinda new to grilling so I am sorry if I ask noob questions

All I am trying to do is to have the knobs working. Maybe you are right it might be possible to buy the knobs only and no valve

Grillin

Take the handle off & see if the valve stem will move more freely.

Grillin

Can you be more specific?

What do you mean take the handle off?

Grillin

If you look at the parts drawing see if you can remove part #3 from part #2. I still think by the age of this grill you are going to need a new valve. They are simple to replace. There is a jam nut (part #6) the you loosen with a 5/8" wrench & the valve will then turn out of the burner.
