Russell's Bourbon Glazed Shrimp

Russell from Alabama has been sending us great photos of his Holland-grilled food and this one caught our eye and our tastebuds--Bourbon Glazed Shrimp. We went to the experts in Kentucky for a good bourbon glaze recipe or you can use store-bought Sweet Bourbon Glaze from Pepper Palace. Either way, this one's a keeper!

3-4 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Sweet Bourbon Glaze from Pepper Palace
or
Make your own glaze: (Chef Mark Williams, Brown-Forman, Louisville, KY)
1 c ketchup
1/2 c apple cider vinegar
1/4 c peanut oil
1/2 c fresh lemon juice
1/4 c honey
1/4 c soy sauce
1/2 c sweet onion, finely chopped
1/2 c brown sugar, packed
1/4 c whole grain mustard
1/4 c garlic, finely chopped
1/4 c gingerroot, finely chopped
1/2 c fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp liquid smoke
1/4 c Woodford Reserve bourbon (or a tad more if you wish :)
Directions

Peel and devein shrimp. Preheat your Holland Grill and place shrimp on skewers, grill for 5-6 minutes first side; turn and brush with your bourbon glaze; Grill another 3-5 minutes and turn over again to the first side and brush the glaze on the shrimp and remove from heat. Use Bourbon Glaze for dipping.
