Tom Kirkman

A local dealer that has swapped over to Traeger (good grills, too) has a Holland cooking grid and a drip pan that he's willing to sell for 1/2 regular price. He said he's had them for probably 4 or 5 years and I wasn't sure they were exactly the same as what came on my newer (2010) Apex.

I understand the older drip pans were SS. This one appears to be aluminum (I can check it with a magnet) and wondered what the cooking/temp difference would be if it did turn out to be SS. Thanks.

My old 95 Classic had a steel pan. As far as I know the older ones were not stainless, just plain steel. They switched to aluminum a few years back. I noticed a little higher temp when I went to the aluminum. The steel will absorb a little more heat according to my demonstrator & the aluminum will not resulting in possibly a little hotter temp & a faster heat up time.
