My wife just bought me an Apex as an early Fathers Day gift. My question to the pros and veterans of the Holland Grill is how long should I cook boneless skinless chicken breast. The guys doing the demos making everything taste so good and moist and I want to get as close to that as I can. Any tips would be appreciated.

AJ

I do mine for 12 min each side & it turns out nice & juicy

I do mine for 8 minutes per side and they fully cook but remain very tender and moist. I might go 10 per side if they're extremely thick.

Keep a record of your cooking times and eventually you'll have a good record of how long you need to cook different foods (and thicknesses) for your particular taste and grill.

Thanks Tom and AJ for your response. I wanted to ask either of you if this is cooking at 400 or 450. My grill always seem to cook at 450. I must say I love it so far. Just cant until I get better at cooking on it.

AJ

Mine is a 1995 Classic so it has some years on it. I can get it to 350-375. I am going to clean the burner & I may get closer to 400

AJ

I always use the really thick breast so that is why I go 12 min per side.

Mine cooks at about 430F. I think if you go more than 8 or 9 minutes per side you'll dry it out.

However, time also depends on how long you have the lid open when you flip the breasts. I can flip a couple in less than 10 seconds and never crack the lid more than a few inches, so I'm not losing much heat.
