Just took delivery of the Apex and didn't waste anytime firing it up. Made some chicken legs and thighs seasoned with the old standby Lawry's Seasoning. Turned out great! Does not come out as crispy as on a regular gas or charcoal grill but what I have read this is something I need to get used to. The best part was no fires.

When up to temp thou there is a noise like it is sucking air, I am thinking that I may need to check the air shutter but if anyone has any other suggestion let me know.


Sounds like your air shutter adjustment may be too lean. When you have too much air going into the burner, the flame will "roar" like a jet engine.

Just adjust the air-shutter with the lid open & no food on the grill so your flame is blue with just a touch of yellow on the tips.

Always do this before you put food on the grill because adding food introduces moisture & causes the flame to become a little more yellow.
