need to know best type of ham and how to cook good browning and taste.

Carl

This was straight of Holland's website. I usually grill a picnic ham.

TO GRILL A HAM -- Grilling your Holiday ham uses practically the same procedure as grilling the turkey. If your ham is PRECOOKED (it usually says on the label and is the most common way to buy a ham) all you need to do is season the ham with Carolina Seasoning and grill the ham until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the meat reaches 140 degrees.
If the ham is raw, grill it until the internal temperature of the meat is 180 degrees.
You can make up a quick and easy glaze using equal parts brown sugar and yellow mustard. Brush the glaze over the ham the last half hour or so of grill time.

how long do i grill ham and do i put water in grill to cut down temperature as ive seen people suggest

Arlo

This is from USDA. Google it. The first set of numbers is pounds and the second set is minutes per pound. Figure about 15 minutes a pound for a precooked hame, or until the meat reaches 140 internal temp. You can always get it done early and wrap it in foil It will still be juicy. Good luck.
