For steaks 1" to 1 1/2" thick there's nothing better than starting them on the SearMate. I have never had a better steak in an expensive restaurant than what I can make at home on my Holland. Once in awhile I get hungry for a well done, crispy hamburger like Mom used to make in the pan, minus the grease, and the SearMate does the job. Thanks for a great product.
