I'm thinking about ordering the Holland thermometer and was wondering if anyone could provide any reviews. I just threw away my second Accurite wired thermometer as they seem to last a year before the cord burns and goes to pot.
Thank you......

@ Ken

My Holland wireless thermometer works very well, but there are some no-no's if you want it to last. I learned the hard way. Mine is now 1+ years old & has been trouble-free.
1) Strong, BRAND NEW alkaline batteries (Duracell-Energizers) are a must in both units. Off brand or re-chargeables just don't work.
2) Don't get the stainless steel cable too hot. It's not designed to work on charcoal or flamethrower type grills. Directions say 482 degrees max. Use it on larger pieces of meat so it doesn't get too close to the cooking grid.
3) Don't pull the probe out of the meat by grabbing the cable. You will damage the joint between the probe & the cable.
