I am getting ready to grill a whole grate full of chicken thighs. Is it imperative to turn them or can they be cooked with out turning? Turning that many pieces would allow a whole bunch of heat to escape

You don't need to turn the thighs, but it is important that you leave a couple of inches open around the edge of the cooking surface. If you cover the whole surface, the heat can't circulate & the top portion won't cook right.
Also, covering the whole surface can cause the burner to starve for oxygen & go out. Meanwhile, gas is still building up in the bottom!

Thanks so much!
