I have an Apex grill that tops out temperature wise at 300 degrees. I have taken it in to dealer who said reason was an insect nest in burner. he supposedly cleaned and returned. Still tops out at pre bug level of 300 degrees. Any Ideas?????

Ray,
What kind of fuel? Outdoor temps? What orifice size (NG or LP)? If LP, small tank or big yard tank?

When Hollands don't get hot enough, it's most likely because not enough gas pressure is getting to the burner.

If you are using a small (20lb) LP tank, you may need to reset the regulator. Go to the Support page >Grill not getting hot. Start there. If that doesn't get you to 400, call Holland for help.

Also, if you happen to be using NG,do you have an NG orifice on the gas valve? An LP orifice is smaller than a NG orifice.

You should give Holland a call. I have called them in the past with an issue and they were able to help get it resolved with no problem. I'll bet they can figure out what the problem is for you.

I have a Tradition LS that is aluminum. It would not go over 300 either so I changed the orifice to a # 56 as well as replacing the regulator. I'm not sure which solved the problem but it now hits 425 with no problems.

I'd have to say the regulator fixed the problem since a #56 orifice is one size smaller than what came in the grill.

FIX IT

RAY, HOLLAND HAD SOME REGULATORS THAT WERE NOT SET HIGH ENOUGH IN THE PAST. YOU MAY HAVE ONE OF THOSE, I WOULD GET A NEW ONE AND SEE IF THATS NOT THE PROBLEM
