Brian Scott

Bought the Holland Grill because a friend said it was the best product in the world.
In other words....I should have bought an oven! This machine" I will not call it a grill" a joke!! Read these reviews!! DO NOT BUY A HOLLAND GRILL!!!

What issues are you having? I've had mine over 3 years and it works fine.

I think you have a very wise friend.

Brian, sorry you feel that way about your grill. I have had two of them now for a total of about 25 years and have loved every bit of it. At first, when the grill is new, you have to cook some greasy things like hamburgers to get the grill "seasoned", then over time it needs to be cleaned out due to build up.

One thing I have noticed is that people want to cook a steak in ten minutes or less. I have learned to cook one for almost an hour and it is just about perfect. I like mine medium-ish. I put the steak on and don;t look at it again for 20 minutes, flip it, then wait another 20 minutes to flip it again. At that point, I just guesstimate about how long it has left, usually 10 minutes or a little longer.

What I am saying is that with a Holland grill, if you're lookin', you aint cookin'.

I finally convinced my dad to get a Holland grill after several years of trying. He went through a handful of "flare up" type grills before he bought one. At first, he was trying to open the lid and look at it and turn the meat over every few minutes. He finally understood what I was saying and left things alone and eventually agreed that what I was telling him was the truth.

If you will follow my suggestion and some of the others, I am sure your opinion will change.

Gosh I have had my grill for ten years or more, the Apex, and I can throw away my oven, I only use my oven now to reheat, and frozen foods. Its so clean because I never use it! All my turkeys and roast are done on the Apex. Tell us which grill you do not like, would be interesting to know?? Sorry you feel that way, because this is a great product, and it only shows there is always some one that will not like a good thing, just like music!?

I forgot to add, that the Holland grill is to me, not a grill but a out door oven! I just love it, the best investment I ever made, yaaaaaaa!!!

As advertised:
Holland's signature smoke stacks help pull air into the grill where it is heated and circulated much like a convection oven. They also allow enough heat to escape to maintain a constant temperature in Holland's hassle-free one-temperature setting.
Next time do the research.

Brian, I can't believe you don't like this grill. I have had mine for 5 years on the advise of a friend who has used one for 20+ years. A great investment, I use it all the time. I have no trouble with my meat browning or having the "grilled" look. You can add chips if you want a smoked flavor but that is no different from a standard gas grill. I call it my set it and forget it grill. There is a learning curve. You can't be in a hurry and adjust your time accordingly. This web site has a timing chart which may be helpful. I hope in time, you change your mind.

It took me awhile to get the hang of it. I've had my Wrangler for about 5 years now. I've tried beer can chicken, a turkey, multiple hamburgers, grilled chicken strips, salmon, baby back ribs and multiple Boston butts. I really had to hunt for a small enough turkey to fit under the Wrangler's more shallow lid but everything I have cooked has turned out good. My all time favorite is the Boston butt which has gotten rave reviews from my family and friends. I remember cooking hamburgers for about 20 people one night and I filled that grill up and let her rip. I love watching the smoke spewing out of those slits on the back of the Wrangler's lid and having people say your burning those burgers and I just say "that's flavor folks. Just stand by". MO FLARE UPS IS AWESOME!

I think once Brian figures it out and realizes it may take a little longer than a traditional grill (especially in the winter) he'll love it.

To me there's nothing better than a few drinks waiting on the grill. With the Holland you'll have time for more than one drink (or beer). I just got finished grilling some chicken and had a few glasses of Sangria and that's why I'm so chatty right now.

I love my Holland Wrangler Brian!

Brian, Do you want to sell it?
