Topic Title: how to cook cornish hens
Created on August 6, 2008 at 07:31 PM

I have a couple cornish hens in the freezer that need cooked.
So I figured what better way to cook them than on my Holland grill.

Trouble is, I am not sure how to do it.
Should I put them directly on the grill or put them on something like a roastin post. I dont have the roastin post and I think the diameter would be too large. I thought mabey an empty beer bottle, but figured that it may break with the high heat.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

For the first time, keep it simple. I spray or rub with butter, season with Holland Carolina seasoning (or your favorite), lay them in the center of the cooking grid & close the lid.(Preheated grill of course)
I can't give you a cooking time, but check them when they are golden brown.(30 minutes +-)
You can get fancy in the future, but I do all my chickens this way & they are great.

I cooked some last week. I just put them on the grill and used spay butter and a little seasoning and they turned out great.
