We have had a Companion for about 6 or 7 years now, and have not used it for about 4 and recently got it back out again, and now I remember why we have not been using it. If there is the slightest breeze at all it will absolutley not stay lite. Is there a recent update or modification that can be purchased to solve this issue. We have a Heritage also and love it and would like to make better use of the Companion while tailgating if the darn thing would stay lite.

You have a very early Companion. Are you closing the lighting hole cover after lighting? Is your grill getting to 400/450 degrees in 15/20 minutes in non-windy conditions? If not, you probably have a weak flame which will blow out easily. You may need a new regulator. Also, always test with a 1 lb tank, not a larger tank with a hose which might also be defective.

I recently had a older portable grill stored for a long while. It had a hard time staying lit. If you have an air compressor or can use one blow the regulator out. That may just work
