there's a gas smell coming from somewhere around the regulator. As soon as I crack the valve on the gas tank it smells like gas and I can hear the escaping gas. It doesn't affect the operation of the grill, but it's not right. Suggestions?

Shut the grill down, disconnect the regulator from the tank and don't use it until you call Holland Co. If you smell it, it's leaking somewhere. Don't risk it. Their number is 1-800-880-9766. Very helpful.

You might check the tank , there is a screw on the side of the valve assembly that lp dealers use sometimes if they are purging a tank , I have had a dealer leave it loose before and leak a little gas .
