Should the meat grid be seasoned before the first usage? Just purchased the Epic yesterday. Plan to break it in this afternoon.

Rod,
This is directly from the manual...

THE GRILL SHOULD BE LIT AND ALLOWED TO OPERATE FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME TO ALLOW PRESERVATIVE TO BURN OFF. AFTER SMOKE STOPS COMING OUT OF STACKS, GRILL IS READY FOR YOUR USE AND ENJOYMENT.

Different strokes for different folks!
Some people cook a few bacon strips on the grill after the first burn-off. The smell is awesome.
Some spray the cooking grid & drip pan with Pam hi-temp cooking spray. Makes it easier to clean & the food doesn't stick.
Normal "seasoning" of the grill is the natural result of cooking a few times so the the smoke generated from the meat can leave a light coating on the inside.
