Anyone out there from Ohio? I have a hard time reaching internal temp.
Does outside temp play that much of a role??
its been in the 20's here

bbqfreak

yes i live in east central ohio. and yes outside temp plays a major role.if you can keep your grill out of the wind helps, alot, what temp are you reaching? have you had the grill for awhile and cooked ok in mild weather?if not it could be a tech. problem not the cold , but sounds like it is just the weather so far. keeping out of the wind is first thing to do. i have 3 hollands and they all cook different.i keep mine protected from wind and rain and in cold weather add time to your cook. the one nice thing bout a holland is the slower you cook the bettereverything tastes. i enjoy using mine when it only reaches 250 in severe cold cause the ribs and such are so tender!

Brian

THANKS so much for the reply! This is our first Holland and its a learning curve. We are from New Philadelphia so we must be close! Its New Years Eve and its MUCH warmer than what it has been so we will get the two temp changes here for more experience.

Brian

Yes the outside temp played a big role in our cooking. did strip steaks in 45 ish degree weather and came out great and didn't take forever!

bbqfreak

beain, hi, yea we are close i live in brewster. do a lot of bussiness in dover-phila

bbqfreak

how do you fix typo's on here?? sorry BRIAN

Brian

Hey BBQFreak our email is 1bwelfley@roadrunner.com if you ever want to email us. Doing pork chops tonight marinaded in Italian dressing, love experimenting with this new grill. BEFORE on our old grill the dressing would drip down and flare up and blacken the outside of our chops so Im hoping these will turn out better!

hey brian will emaillater mine is winwardfarms@sssnet.com
if you have any questions just ask. i don't know all but have been playing with these for a long time.[i have 3 of them] plus a few other cookers, but the holland is probably my fav.
