I have had the same Holland Grill for 15+ years. I have used it an average of 4 times per week and have had to replace the bottom shell one time.
I do have a new stove in the house but do not want to know how to turn it on.
There is a Broil Master grill setting beside the Holland and it is used primarily only when I have a large group to feed. It is agood grill-just not a Holland.
I just bought a new Holland Epic Grill along with a steel SearMate I just mounted it and realize that I would have preferred a stainless steel unit due to the high temperatures it operates at. I feel sure that I am right but would like to hear of the experences of others on the life span of each type.

If I had a dozen of the Top grills setting side by side I have no doubt that I would use the Holland and the idea of the SearMate is great but if there is a next time I will buy the stainless SearMate. Due to my age I feel sure the Epic will last as long as I do.
ANY COMMENTS ON THE SEARMATE STAINLESS VR.S STEEL?

THANKS ,
A CONFIRMED HOLLAND GRILL USER!

There is no bottom in the Searmate so you won't be trapping water or anything there. My guess is that you'll get a long, long life out of the regular SM as long as you keep it covered and dry when not in use.
