When grilling hamburgers, steaks or chicken it usually takes over an hour to cook all the way through. I adjusted the air shutter but it didn't seem to work. Anybody have any suggestions?

I would check to see how hot your grill is getting. Normnal size burgers take about 10-12 minutes per side.
Put an oven thermometer in the center of the grill with no food on it and let it run for 30 minutes. Should get to approximately 400. If it does not you either have an obstruction, bad regulator hose, etc. Call Holland service department. They helped me once and they were very friendly. (I know all this because the same thing happened to me) I had cobwebs inside the burner.

I've had the same problem - last year cleaned it all out and it still isn't working property. Even in a light summer breeze I've had to put in the garage to get it up to temperature - as soon as I put meat on it drops and never regains temp. Any other suggestions besides cob webs - been there, done that!
Thanks for any ideas. It has never worked properly since the day I bought it.

Diane--you either have the wrong orifice or a bad regulator hose. (If you're sure there's nothing inside the burner)I would check with whoever you bought it from or call Holland's service department. Mine was brand new and it simply had a defective regulator. They helped me and mine is really cookin' now!

Michael & Diane,
Are you aware of the safety valve in the LP regulator that shuts down gas flow if it senses a leak? I wasn't until I called Holland about low heat on my grill.
As it turns out, I was turning my grill on & off in the wrong sequence & activating the safety valve, so I was only getting about 1/2 the gas into the burner. There is a pretty good explanation of this & how to reset it under the Trouble-shooting" section, then "Grill not getting hot" on this web-site.
