Topic Title: New Grill Today

I finally purchased my new Epic today. I have been debating for several months about what new grill I wanted to purchase. I finally decided on the Epic. I used the grill early this evening to grill a couple of steaks for my wife and I and they turned out great!

I wanted to put the "No Flame Guarantee" to the maximum test and the Epic passed with flying colors. My wife and I enjoy a simple side dish of bacon wrapped mushrooms, but they are the worst for flaming due the the grease from the bacon. I figured if the Holland didn't flame with the mushrooms, it truly would not flame with anything.

I have owned a Weber for the last 7 years and I do not have anything negative to say about my Weber other than maybe that the bacon wrapped mushrooms would flame. I wanted the Holland for more than just the quick burger or steak and I can't wait to try chicken, ribs and various big meats.

I live in NC and grew up with huge "Pig Cookers" and the "low and slow' philosophy. The Holland makes me think of a next generation "Pig Cooker." I am super excited about my Holland I am sure it will exceed my great expectations.

I know exactly how you feel. I had a fairly expensive Blue Ember grill that I liked quite a bit. I cooked on it about once or twice a week. But after buying my Holland Apex last January (2011) I've been grilling 4 or 5 times per week. Best food I've ever had and I'll never bother "searing" another steak.
