Just got our grill - lit it for the first time. Following the directions to adjust the flame (get it blue) and now while flame is blue with some yellow tips (as directions describe), it is VERY loud. Is this normal? Thanks.

Edward

Susan, I would call Holland early this morning to describe the noise, etc. It could be a variety of things, but the flame should not be noticeably loud. It could be the regulator hose itself, which sometimes can make a "whistling" noise. Call Holland service at 800-880-9766. They are easier to reach earlier in the morning around 8am.

Susan,
Check your air-shutter adjustment. If you have too much air going into the burner, it will roar like a jet engine. Re-adjust like the owners manual says to blue flames with small yellow tips.

Thanks for the info!! Before we started adjusting the air shutter, the noise was fine. So...we'll try again. We're not great at mechanics!

Susan,
I should have also mentioned that your air-shutter adjustment needs to be made with the lid open & no food on the grill.
After the food is added & the lid closed, the flame will become more yellow because of the moisture in the food. Do not re-adjust as this is normal.
