Topic Title: Butts on the Holland

I've had my Holland for about 6 years now.
I do alot of Boston Butts and I haven't found anything that cooks them better then my grill. I use water to slow cook them all day and they just fall off the bone!
Even my kids like it and that's saying something!

I've owned my Holland for a year now and it has been the best purchase I've made in years. Big Grillah, that is a great idea to use the water. I cooked a 8 pound butt last week but followed a recipe I saw on Holland's site. It turned out great, but I think the outside was too done and the inside still had some fat. How long did you cook yours? Thanks, Terry

Have just put together my Heritage Grill and saw this blog. WOW!! I love Boston Butt. Could someone put up a recipe that will work best on the Holland Grill?

Terry, The time of course depends on how big the butt is. But I use a digital thermometer to make sure the meat is cooked to about 180 degree. You can tell its getting done when the meat starts shrinking back from the bone.

Been cookin' on a Holland for over 15 years. Boston Butt is one of my personal fav's. Jus' wash, pat dry, season with plenty of Brads Seasoning and fling 'er on the grill. Figur' 'bout 30 mins per lb or until internal temp is 180. I pull it apart on plenty of paper towels, defat, and pull. Serve on large toasted buns with plety of Carolina slaw and E. Carolina sauce. Something to die for.

For an added treat jus' lightly rinse a couple pack of fresh mushrooms, toss with seasoning, and place on grill cap side down. When they 'puddle' pass 'em around. Mmmmmmm.
