I bought a Holland Epic yesterday and have used it a couple times....its running about about 500+ degrees!!! I read where they will run hot at first, but any idea how long before it drops back to normal temps, or is there something I can, or should do?

Cook on it a lot! As it gets seasoned by cooking, the temp will start to drop about 50 degrees. Also, don't wait for the temp to max out unless you are doing steaks. Get your food in when it reaches 400 degrees.


i keep mine coated real good with pam inside and out mine is 12 years old,almost time for a new bottom. putting in the shade helps as well. happy grilling!
