Has anyone every done whole fresh pineapple on the holland - we would like to try it and the only recipe I have found for the "other grills" was to cut it up into 8 wedges and then grilled - but was wondering if you couldn't do a whole one on the Holland. Thanks in advance for the info.

I've never tried one whole. I do grill them cut in half, cut side up coated with brown sugar. It is hard to mess one up on the Holland.

LarryReady: I'm getting ready to try your recipe and would like to know how long you cook it on the Holland.

Ready Freddy

Larry's Holland is still in the box in his garage...just kidding, Larry, I'd like to know as well.

SO..does anyone have a recipe for this ? Brown sugar on this sounds good. Sure hope someone can share how to grill this !!!

No recipes for whole pineapple but slicing it into 1/2 inch rings works well. Mix up a batch of of this

1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Spread this mixture on the pineapple rings before placing on the grid. Grill for 5-7 mins. Flip the rings over, brush on more mix and grill for 5 more mins. Enjoy.

I made some on the 4th, brushed on honey and sprinkled a little cinnamon on both sides. it is great with vanilla icecream.

If anyone wants to get fancy...try studding a whole peeled pineapple with green peppercorns. You can find them in a specialty food store they come in a little can the size of a small cat food can. Roast the pineapple the usual way with brown sugar or whatever mix you guys like.

You basically want to push the little green peppercorns into the flesh, just as far as they will go so they don't fall out during roasting.

This works great in a rotisserie setup too.
