I have been using the grill for 3 months

This is a nice I like it But--

It does not get as hot as when new
Some of the remedies from this forum have been tried to correct this

including ordering a temperature gauge from Holland

The temps are HIGH -- 325 Med -- 275 Low -- off

It can be 2 hours until I get smoke from pellets

I mostly use exchange tanks or refill the 1# tanks

The following has not changed anything
1 -- new 1# cylinder
2 -- purge the line from the large tank to the grill
3 -- purchased a new tank w/ new valve

Any help would be GREAT

Thanks Dave

@ Dave

Start with everything turned off & connected.
Take the hose off the tank for 3 minutes & replace.
Turn the tank valve on slowly. All the way on.
Light the grill & look at the flame. 3" w/ yellow tips.

You just did a regulator reset.

What I failed to mention is this is a

Companion model

There is a specific sequence to light the grill.
Its in the troubleshooting section.
If its not done in that sequence, it will light but wont get as hot as it should and therefore the food takes longer to cook.

@ Dave

Sorry, the regulator reset only applies to the full size grills.
On your Companion, test it with a 1 lb tank screwed directly on the back of the regulator. If it won't heat to 400/450 in 15/20 minutes, replace the regulator. If it works good with the 1 lb tank, but not when hooked up to the large tank, replace the hose. If you don't have a Holland brand conversion hose, get one.

I called Holland and spoke with Dan a tech
he determined it is a faulty regulator
and Holland sent me out a new part
under warranty

Thank you Dan for your help today
