Head west, young man! And brother, I have been headed west for several days now. Guessing where I'm at when the picture below was taken may be a little more difficult for you players. This little town with a current population of just over 1,000 was nothing but buffalo and Indians back in the 1870s. The US Army began forcing the Indians to reservations from the 1870s through the early 1880s. The buffalo hunters "cleared" the ranges (very sad about all that looking back) to make way for the big cattle boon of the 1880s. This town was named after a French immigrant who settled here and became the biggest cattle rancher in the area with over 65,000 head. Rumor has it that this Frenchie--a personal friend of Teddy Roosevelt--had his cowboys surround the town and wouldn't let anyone in or out until they signed a petition agreeing to name the town after him. In his will, he left funds to erect a statue of himself where it still stands to this day. Where the heck am I?
