Topic Title: surprise!

I am a loyal Holland Grill owner and love everything that I make with it. Haven't been disappointed yet.

My wife went out last night to fire it up for some burgers, took the cover off and to her surprise (and the neighbors' after she let our a scream at the top of her lungs), found a mouse with 5 little babies resting right in the middle of the grill! The mom was very resourceful using the cotton from the inside of my grill cover to make a bed for the babies. Needless to say my wife didn't get it lit.

I was very surprised because we use the grill about 3-4 times per week. It had been a little over a week since we had used it last, though. These mice must move quickly.

I took the mice out and set them in the field behind our house and hopefully they can find a nice new home (far away from mine). I need my grill!

Has anyone else opened up their grill to find a surprise waiting for them?

In some countries this could be a delicacy!

That crossed my mind but my wife vetoed that idea. She thought burgers would be better than grilled mice.

I opened mine and a bird flew out of it. Just goes to show you everybody--and everything--loves a Holland!

About four years ago we took the cover off our gasser that hadn't been used for about a year and found a pile of leaves in it. I started to clean the leaves out abd discovered four little hairless things that I thought were rats. We left them awhile when tryting to decide what to do. Soon a momma possum showed up and we left them alone. What a surprise. After a s few weeks they dissappeared and we cleaned the grill out and started using it. The Momma hung around for a couple years and she to dissappeared. We miss them yet.

You should have killed the mice.
