I am considering purchasing The Comopanion Grill. I am wondering if the electric model is as good as the gas model? Are the temps and cook times the same?

@ Danny

Both grills get to about the same temp & cook about the same. The LP grill has been out several years longer & may be a bit more reliable at this point.
You need to base your decision on which will be more suitable for your personal needs. The LP grill needs LP gas & the electric version needs an electrical outlet.

I live in Kansas and of course we have lots of wind. I have read some blogs about problems with the flame going out on the LP models. The companion will be used mostly at the camp grounds where we always look for have electric hookups and I do have a generator. If there is not much difference, I'm leaning toward the electric model unless the LP is much better. It seems the electric would less maintenance and we pay for electricity anyway. Any more thoughts would be appreciated.

@ Danny

Sounds like you have thought it out & come to a reasonable conclusion.
I personally think most of the LP grill "blowing out" problems are because of miscalibrated regulators not letting enough gas into the burner. Weak flames blow out easily.
